Preliminary Rounds

  • Category A :
    • A Little Prelude by J.-S. Bach to choose from: BWV 924-925-926-927-928-930-933-934-935-936-937-938-939-940-941-942-943-999
    • Two works of the candidate’s own choice
  • Category B :
    • A 2- or 3-voice invention by J.-S. Bach
    • Three works of the candidate’s own choice
  • Category C :
    • A Prelude and Fugue by J.-S. Bach
    • Three works of the candidate’s own choice
  • Category D : ! Change for the 30th anniversary of the competition (2026).
    • A Prelude and Fugue or one work by J.-S. Bach
    • Two pieces of your choice
    • One "study"
    • ! Duration of the program: between 30 and 45 minutes

Semi-final

Same programme as the preliminaries. 

! Category A will not take part in the semi-finals.

Final

  • Category A : same programme as the preliminaries
  • Category B : same programme as the preliminaries + a “Study” of the candidate’s choice
  • Category C : same programme as the preliminaries + a “Study” of the candidate’s choice
  • Category D : The FIRST movement of one of the following concertos: BEETHOVEN n° 1 op.15; n°2 op.19; n°3 op.37 or n°4 op.58. The finalists will be accompanied by the Jean-Noël HAMAL Orchestra.

The candidate’s “study” (Category B and C) + the number and key of the concerto (Category D) must be mentioned when registering.

The jury for the final and semi-final is different from that for the selection rounds.

The jury for each event is free to make choices from the program. (see regulations).
